We Put the You in Unions, Fittings Reengineered Around Your Needs

Reduce Your Installation Costs, Improve Your Application, & Exceed Inspection Standards
Eliminate Inferior & Oversized Castings with Our Superior

Precision Machined from Solid Bar, Alloy Steel  & Aluminum Unions
Smooth ID Provides a Smooth Snag Fee Wire Pull
Machine Cut Threads & Uniform Centerlines Assist in Misaligned Pipe-Enclosure

UNY (male-female) and UNF (female) hazardous location unions are installed in threaded rigid conduit systems. UNY male unions connect conduit to a conduit fitting, junction box, or device enclosure with one NPT threaded male end and a threaded female end. UNF female unions connect conduit to conduit (two threaded ends) or provide a means for future modification of the conduit system. Both provide a means for the removal of equipment without turning conduit.  View Union Catalog

Key factors for unions are alignment, consistent centerlines, and strong threads. Since it is 3 individual components the weight of the fitting should be considered. Cast Malleable and Ferroalloy Iron fittings are bulky and are 2 -3 times the weight of steel. Due to its low Brinnel Hardness ratings, cast fittings have been known to deform under stress load and the softness of the threads will flatten when over-torqued during installation.
